Tokarka CNC ze złomu Automatyczna zmiana narzędzia rewolwer - ATC CYCLONE

Hey! Another episode of salvaging a Denford Cyclone CNC lathe from the scrapyard – this time we're tackling the automatic tool changer (ATC/turret/tool magazine) with a Baruffaldi RH 80 turret. In this video, I thoroughly discuss: How the 8-station turret originally worked and why finding the right motor is so difficult. Why the stepper motor turned out to be a dead end (mechanical play, misalignment, lack of support in the LinuxCNC carousel module). Why I abandoned the original 110V motor with a brake and serrated teeth. The idea for a servo motor in torque mode – a fantastic solution! How to detect position using inductive sensors + redundancy (collision safety) Lots of 3D printing – electrical connectors, adapters, and other clever solutions Mechanical principle of operation: extension, one-way rotation, ring gear retraction, brake Short table of contents: 0:00 – Introduction and what we'll do in the series 0:40 – Review of previous episodes (disassembly, cleaning, gear) 1:19 – Original operating logic of the Baruffaldi RH80 turret 2:34 – Why the original motor is impossible to replicate 3:11 – Test with a stepper motor → why it failed 5:14 – Servo stepping and "soft" mode – it almost worked 6:29 – Discovering torque mode in a cheap Chinese servo 7:09 – My solution: inductive sensors + redundancy 7:46 – 3D printing in action – Super helpful 8:26 – Plan for the next episodes (servo in torque mode + LinuxCNC configuration) In the next episodes, I'll show: → Servo configuration in torque mode → Implementing the entire logic in LinuxCNC (universal approach – also works with other drives) If you're retrofitting an old CNC lathe, modernizing a turret, struggling with tool storage on LinuxCNC, or just enjoy watching machines being salvaged from scrap – be sure to subscribe and ring the bell 🔔!
