I Found a 6,000-Year-Old Underground City… and Found Human Bones

Deep inside a remote desert canyon in Turkey, I set out to explore one of the most mysterious landscapes I’ve ever seen. What started as a simple hike quickly turned into something much bigger. Along the canyon walls I began finding traces of an ancient world… stone tools scattered across the ground, arrowheads and spear points hidden in the dust, fragments of pottery, and incredible cliff dwellings carved directly into the rock. The deeper I went, the more evidence appeared that people had lived and worked here thousands of years ago. The canyon eventually led me to entrances of underground chambers and tunnels connected to ancient underground cities that once sheltered entire communities. Surrounded by rock art, abandoned structures, and countless artifacts, it felt like stepping into a forgotten chapter of history. Exploring places like this always raises more questions than answers. Who were the people that lived here? Why did they build entire cities underground? And how much of their story is still waiting to be discovered beneath the desert?
