Mecha BREAK Needs To Make Some Big Changes... Breakdown of thoughts: Monetization: Far too catered towards whales. Does not have enough incentive for F2P players or any long term goals to retain player interest. Matrix Contract should add more seasonal themed items on the paid side of it like accessories/cosmetics, a single voucher to redeem a seasonal supply crate cosmetic of their choice, corite, etc in exchange for allowing F2P players to be able to earn things like the Narukami Custom and other cosmetics only available to those who purchased the contract. Give the Matrix Contract other worthwhile items (and allow them to be sold on the matrix marketplace) to still ensure it has value but the current model basically has nothing to grind unless you know how to play around the market and loot found from mashmak. Mashmak/PVE: Mashmak is currently twisting the knife it is trying to dislodge with the intention of this game mode. If you go back to the original interview where mashmak was first introduced it was supposed to be an escape from Verge so you could feel powerful in your mech but by making it a PvPvE extraction mode that can queue any skill level of players against one another then many players are going to be at an extreme disadvantage especially with the way it is currently set up. While we have had positive additions like the cargo rockets and more extractions on normal these issues plus the modular weapons being far too powerful against other strikers have made mashmak unenjoyable for a lot of players. Many of us agree that modular weapons should really have more focus on the amount of damage they do to the PvE enemies while having a huge nerf in damage to fellow strikers as the time to kill has allowed for teams to be very oppressive in this setting. On top of that there is just not enough focus on anything that allows us to work together against Theia’s Vanguard or the Corite threat we’re introduced to in the introduction and tutorial which is just hurting the games own reach. There are a lot of casual players who don’t want anything to do with PVP from the general gaming community and there is a huge crowd of Armored Core players and mecha enthusiasts desperate for a cooperative experience with their friends and I have the numbers to prove it. On nexus mods you can find the Armored Core 6 co-op mod which has almost 50,000 unique downloads and that’s not even including the players who were unaware of this, don’t want to mess with modding or are unable to because they are on console. If given more options to play a form of PVE some might even explore the PvP game modes after becoming more familiar with the Strikers they enjoy without the fear of constantly being hunted down by players with more experience than them. I really think there should also be an area of PVE, whether mashmak or otherwise, that just has a constantly open and shifting world with respawning enemies, events, and storms that move around allowing for an open area where people can befriend one another to help in fights, socialize, and reinforce the community in a way that doesn’t constantly pit us against one another. Mechs could even be given emotes with standard ones for communication and fancier variants for monetization. We could also use weekly-biweekly Raid Bosses for players to join up and defeat and a standard PVE mode like wave based “Tower Defense” with a point to defend from either Theia’s Vanguard or Corite Corrupted enemies with access to the mods/modular weapons from Mashmak and maybe even have new deployable defense weapons that can be assembled from parts found in mashmak with the intention of being used during the tower defense. This would help encourage both playing mashmak and this mode and with the current state of the game I really think this would be a better alternative than to add a 24v24 mode, especially when Ace Arena is already struggling to get matches for 3v3’s.
