Introduction to Transit Asset Management (TAM) Webinar August 25, 2016

Transit asset management (TAM) involves a set of strategic and systematic processes and practices for managing the performance, risks, and costs of transit assets across their entire lifecycle to deliver service reliability, safely, and cost effectively. Asset management is not just about maintenance, and it is more than technology. To be successful, a comprehensive approach to asset management incorporates the people, processes, technology, data and information, and continual improvement needed to support better management of assets over their entire life. This training webinar will provide an overview and introduction to transit asset management. Participants will gain an understanding of what transit asset management entails, why it is important, and requirements form the recent Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Transit Asset Management (TAM) rulemaking to develop transit asset management plans and what it means for Ohio DOT and its sub recipients.
