🏔️ Yet ANOTHER Excuse to Return to Sherbrooke Lake — Bath Peak & Its Ridiculously Good Views 😍

🥾 Bath Peak | 2,883 m | Yoho National Park I swear I was done with the Sherbrooke Lake valley. Six trips in over nearly two decades — Paget, Bosworth, Niles, Daly, Ogden, Wolverine, Ogden Benches — I figured I'd wrung this tight little valley dry. 🙄 Then Devan Peterson posted a snowshoe route up a high point overlooking the Bath Glacier, appropriately named "Bath Peak," and here I am. Again. 😅 Fresh off an 80km+ "Road to Nepal" ride the day before, I did NOT bound out of bed — but the stats didn't scare me. 😴 The route delivered the full Rockies buffet: tree root hell, a lakeshore "trail" that nearly dumped me in the lake, avalanche debris, bushwhacking, and enough Christmas tree whacking to build character. 🌲 Bonus: I actually wore my mountaineering boots for once (spoiler — didn't need them, but the insoles were nice 🥾). The upper mountain was the payoff. Way less snow than expected, a fun bit of route-finding through the crux gullies, and moderate scrambling up a rib to a summit with stunning views over the Bath Glacier, Sherbrooke Lake, and half the Rockies. 🏔️ Gloves and a toque in July? Sign me up — I hate scrambling in the heat (and smoke). 🧤 Oh, and I told a group of hikers that "no bear attacks have happened on groups of 5 adults" and marched them past a very unbothered black bear.
