Composition and White Space in Drawing

In this video, I share the process behind one of my black ink drawings, with a special focus on composition and the use of white space. Rather than treating empty areas as background, I see white space as an active part of the drawing. Throughout the process, I explain the decisions behind my composition, how I guide the viewer’s attention, and how I balance detail, contrast, and visual weight on the page. This drawing was created using black Indian ink and a small selection of drawing tools. The entire process, including filming, took approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you're interested in ink drawing, composition, creative decision-making, or learning how to use white space more intentionally in your artwork, I hope you'll find this video useful.
