Has undergone several reconstructions throughout its history due to damage from invaders and earthquakes. Architectural Features: Reflects traditional Hindu temple design with intricate stone carvings. Rests on a solid rock with a 20 ft tall octagonal base supporting a square building. Reached by a stone staircase, with a doorway leading to the interior chamber housing a Shiva Lingam. The temple represents a unique blend of ancient Kashmiri architecture and Hindu temple architecture. Spiritual Importance: Considered one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Kashmiri Hindus. Timings: 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM Getting There: Accessible by road and then a climb of 243 steps to the temple.
