Lexus GX470 Height Sensor

Hopefully this saves you some time and money. Watch this before you pay the deal approx. $2,000 to change these sensors out. Height Sensor in the video is shown once it was removed from under the Lexus. This video is to show you what the sensors look like once removed, and what turned out to be why my sensors were acting up.The SUV was bouncing like a clown car because of these simple sensors failing. The removal process from the vehicle was pretty easy. I am no mechanic, so for me to say it's easy...:) This video starts after the sensors were removed. There are two height sensors total. The undercarriage attachment of the height sensors is just a couple of bolts and a snap on/off clip for the electrical connection. Pretty simple removal. Just be safe by using good jack stands if you lift your vehicle. I actually removed them with out lifting the vehicle. Also, definitely wear eye protection. Lot of road dirt comes loose from these things and will end up in your eyes if you do not wear some safety glasses or goggles. You should also know that there is a terrific conversion kit if you just decide to omit the height control and air suspension altogether. I did the conversion a couple of years after I recorded this video. My initial repair shown in this video lasted around 2 years. Then the bouncy ride came back. I decided just to convert to a coil suspension and be done with it. Worked out great. No regrets. Easy install. Good Luck!!
