Starting in Topeka after a track meet at Washburn University, I hit the road with my trusty DeLorme Atlas & Gazetteer, using nothing but the map, my curiosity, and a bit of Google Maps for landmarks. Along the way, I visit towns like Pauline, Berryton, Michigan Valley, Centropolis, and Peoria, discovering old cemeteries, abandoned rail lines, forgotten post offices, and the remnants of once-thriving communities. It’s a mix of exploration and history, with fun facts added in later — giving you the answers before I even know them. Join me for this real-time adventure into the unknown corners of Kansas!
