Mary Eden sends Black Mamba, one of the longest and demanding crack lines deep in the Utah desert!

Embark on an unforgettable journey as Mary Eden aka @tradprincess sends The Black Mamba 5.14b, a formidable 50-meter roof crack nestled deep within Utah's Canyonlands. Originally established by the renowned Wide Boyz, Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall, this line is a true test of crack climbing endurance, technique, and love of weird dark places. Black Mamba stands as a testament to the beauty and brutality of crack climbing in the heart of the White Rim, a hybrid of bouldering and traditional techniques, demanding everything from finger locks to inverted offwidth prowess. Fall of 2023, Mary immersed herself in the challenges of this unique route, scrubbing holds with a trusty toilet brush, running from spiders, and learning how to climb the boulder problems efficiently so she would still be able to climb the Angry Pirate Finish 5.13b offwidth guarding the finish.
