MRJ/SpaceJet - японская попытка

The Mitsubishi Regional Jet (also known as the SpaceJet) is a regional jet airliner developed by Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) in the 2010s. The project, announced in 2007, was extremely ambitious, aiming to become a leader in the regional air travel niche and elevate Japan to the ranks of major aircraft manufacturers. The initial plan called for a family of two baseline aircraft: the smaller MRJ70 and the larger MRJ90, with a capacity of 70-90 seats, respectively. The aircraft were to feature the latest technology, a high proportion of composites in their construction, and the latest engines. However, the program was continually plagued by numerous technical and strategic challenges, leading to delays and repeated delivery delays. Initially, the aircraft was scheduled to begin deliveries in 2013, but its maiden flight didn't actually take place until 2015, and delivery dates were pushed back to the mid-2020s. Given such significant challenges and delays, as well as changing market conditions and the emergence of new competitors, the MRJ, then renamed SpaceJet, lost customer interest, and the entire project was soon canceled.
