Upland Fencing By Drone - Keith Challis From The National Trust Explains Why

In mountainous terrain, getting your fencing material into place is either extremely difficult, or just plain IMPOSSIBLE! Keith Challis, from The National Trust, wanted to see if the BIG XAG P100 Pro was able to transport 3 tons of fencing material to 4 precise locations across some seriously steep terrain in The Peak District. This was all part of our Beyond Restoration project which was funded by the UKRI. So at 6am, the AutoSpray team were joined by some intrepid members of the AutoSpray Pilot Network (ASPN) to tackle this tricky job. By the afternoon, we we'd cracked it, and had a very efficient system in place. Throughout the morning we refined the process as we became more familiar with the hurdles the landscape threw up. At the end of the job, I was interested to hear that each of the 3 ASPN pilots that had taken part, had found it their BEST day flying. I'm sure the scenery and location played a part, but mainly I think it was the problem solving and manual flying that made it a day to remember.
