Throwing “Double Walled Thermo Cup” on the potter’s wheel @Alchemyceramic
Today’s project is a “Double Walled Thermo Cup.” In Japan, we traditionally use a Yunomi Cup to drink Japanese Tea. The Yunomi cup doesn’t have a handle like a mug, so the heat of the hot tea through the cup's wall makes holding the cup difficult. We have a particular way to hold the Yunomi with two hands, which looks elegant. However, today I’m going to skip this elegant tea-drinking style and make a double-walled Thermo cup. This way, I can grab the cup immediately after pouring the tea and keep the heat longer. I use this cup every day, and I love it. It requires a bit practice in the beginning but after few attempts it will be fun to make them! #howtothrowpot #ceramics #howtothrowonthewheel #stonewarepottery #clay #throwpots #Pottery making #Ceramic technique #Handmade ceramics #doublewallcup
