Airdate: January 15, 1966 While we all know now that "These Boots...." was the hit here, climbing to #1 next month and becoming the 6th most popular song of 1966, how would you have rated it back then? "These Boots..." will enter the Billboard charts next week at #74. Akens’ “Slice of the Pie” never charted. I thought it had a good bassline, a nice “Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch” sorta sound and, well, you can dance to it. I give it a 77.
