Lets start by saying i understand why people dont like him, he is childish, selfish, and frequently idealized people, setting unrealistic expectations which led to disappointment. But for the most part he has moments of genuine care and sensitivity. Yes, he can be dramatic, entitled, and annoying, but he’s also open, caring, and protective. His sensitivity makes him relatable, and his evolution as a character feels well-written and realistic. he’s not a bad person or a poorly written character—just a flawed and learning one, like all of us. Dawson’s passion for movies resonates with me because, like him, I use films or TV as an escape. While it’s important not to romanticize everything, Dawson doesn’t entirely ignore reality—he faces his mistakes and learns. His journey is about growing up, letting go, and realizing that life isn’t a fantasy. He doesn’t get the girl, loses his dad, struggles with the harsh realities of his dream career, and learns that people are imperfect.
