A 1979 VAZ 2101. The owner of this car contacted our workshop with a request to improve the quality of his headlights. The task was to install Bi-LED modules. New headlights from this car were purchased separately for further work and modification. We also purchased new plastic lenses without notches to install the LED lenses, replacing the notched glass lenses. We removed the glass from the new headlights and began installing and configuring the LED modules. This was no easy task. After installing and securing the modules, we had to redesign the rear section of the headlight, as there was little left of the original design and we no longer needed it. Using scrap materials, we designed and fabricated a reliable and sealed rear section. We installed custom-made and painted decorative masks on the front side of the headlight over the installed lenses, and covered the entire assembly with new transparent plastic lenses. The headlights are finished, and it's time to install the wiring and connect them. We prepared special wiring for this. The old wiring was designed for a halogen bulb with an H4 base, which requires three power wires. Our lensed headlights require four wires for proper operation. With our new, redesigned wiring, we solved this issue, and the headlights work perfectly in all modes (low and high beam). The work is complete, the headlights shine brilliantly and look stylish.
