Officials from the National Service for the Social Reintegration of Youth (SENAME) held a demonstration Tuesday morning, July 7, at the agency's regional office, located on Orompello Street in downtown Concepción. The protest, led by the National Association of SENAME Workers (ANTRASE) Biobío and the National Association of Social Reintegration Officials (ANFUR Reinserción), aimed to demand urgent measures to address the repeated acts of violence that, they assert, particularly affect the Coronel Provisional Detention and Closed Regime Center (CIP-IRC). The regional president of ANTRASE Biobío, Raúl Fuentealba, stated that the attacks have become constant and accused the authorities of failing to provide effective solutions despite meetings held in recent weeks. "This situation of constant violence means our center is the most violent in the country; it's where the most homemade weapons are confiscated," he said.
