D-Day Whale Bridge - Southampton

The D-Day Whale bridge was a crucial component of the Mulberry harbours used during the Normandy landings in 1944, During early October 2025 it was carefully lifted from its former position near the Red Funnel terminal. It's seen here leaving Southampton on it's way to Marchwood where it will be restored and displayed. It is believed to have been constructed there over 80 years ago and marks a significant moment in the preservation of British military heritage.
