Tyne & Wear Metro | 555008 Departs South Hylton and 555030 Departs Pelaw

Please consider leaving a like or subscribe, it's greatly appreciated! 🙂 The Tyne & Wear Metro is a public light rail transit system that serves the county of Tyne & Wear in the North East of England. It's operated by both Nexus and Stadler. The Tyne & Wear Metro has two different fleets, the Class 599/994's (also referred to as Metrocars) and the newer fleet built by Stadler in Switzerland the Class 555. The Tyne & Wear Metro came into operation on the 11th August, 1980 with their Metrocar fleet. These started to be replaced by the Class 555 fleet in December 2024 with the first train coming into passenger service on the 18th December 2024. The system is used by around 101,000 passengers daily.
