Vos y yo: Azucena Maizani (1930)

waltz written by Francisco García Jiménez and Héctor Bates Azucena Maizani (1902 - 1970), "La ñata gaucha", was the supreme female tango singer in the 1930's. Her career covered the full range available to a tango artist: theatre, film, radio and records. You and I: Two former lovers are condemned to different destinies: hers is 'to enchant, laugh and love', his is to suffer. 'Your dreams are just beginning: I am saying Adíos to mine'. As so often, Maizani sings the part of the lyric's male protagonist.
