A HISTÓRIA dos motores SCANIA e MACK V8

In the early 1950s, truck and bus manufacturers Scania-Vabis, from Sweden, and Mack, from the United States, formed a joint venture agreement and began developing engines, including the iconic V8 line launched in the 1960s! The first V8 diesel engine created by the companies was the Mack Thermodyne END-864, a naturally aspirated 14.2-liter engine. However, in 1969, a turbocharged version and a Scania variant known as the DS-14 were introduced, equipping the new LB-140 Super truck. Over the years, the engines gained more power, and models with larger displacements were developed. Mack stopped using its V8s in the 2000s after being acquired by Volvo, but Scania continues, and its engine, known as the DC-16, is one of the most powerful in the world, achieving an astonishing 770 hp!
