"Music Demonstration: Son's Style, with John Mooney" Journey to the Son: A Celebration of Son House Blues Music Award winner John Mooney began playing guitar in Joe Beard’s band, and then honed his style at Son’s feet right here in Rochester. In this unique event, he demonstrates Son’s legendarily visceral performance style. Thursday, August 27, 2015, 12:00pm Fielding Stage, Geva Theatre The Institute recently partnered with the Geva Theatre Center on a celebration of the life and music of blues musician Son House. Journey to the Son included a reading of a play commissioned especially for the event, concerts, and four days of workshops and seminars.
