Milei said his country isn't the only one "taking difficult decisions", and heaps praise on his close ally Donald Trump. Like Trump, Milei was critical of the UN but in more academic language. He set out four principles for the organisation to change, saying its central mission should be to preserve international peace and security, and that "everything else must serve that goal". He also called on the UN to become more institutionally efficient, to not allow international cooperation to block economic growth and to recognise that where issues can be solved nationally, they should be.
