88 Firebird Hatchback Motor Gear Replacement

1988 Formula Firebird originally had 5.0 TBI Swapped 5.7 TPI from a 1992 Z28 Camaro If your pull down Hatchback motor is still running or making noises, but not functioning - then this could be your issue. It's the drive gear inside the pull down hatch motor housing. The Dorman brand I use is about $21 off eBay with free shipping. Part #926-135. I will be replacing the old gear, and installing the Dorman part number listed above. I've encountered this problem on a couple 3rd gens. It was never the Hatchback motor going out or dying.
