It took triple overtime to decide the D1 champ and Cathedral did it in dramatic fashion as the Dons' Jack Onstott '14 returned an interception 98-yards for the pick-six and a 37-31 CIF D1 victory. Last year Cathedral was disqualified from the playoffs due to an ineligible player playing all year; the Dons self reported the player just before the 2012 playoffs began. This was Cathedral's sixth title in seven years and tenth overall, only Oceanside has more CIF titles with 14.
