Northern Central Railway: Carl Franz Photo Charter 2022

The Northern Central Railway, formerly known as Steam into History, operates passenger trains on a scenic stretch of track in South Central Pennsylvania. The line is most well known as the route President Abraham Lincoln used to travel to Gettysburg to deliver his famous Gettysburg Address speech in 1863. On this occasion, the railroad and its equipment was chartered by Carl Franz for a day of photo runbys. No. 17 "York", a fully-functional replica of a Civil War-era 4-4-0, was the motive power for this private, not-publicly-announced event, with 3 passenger coaches in tow. Coverage includes the 1838-built Howard Tunnel, the third oldest railroad tunnel in the United States, as well as a plethora of rare mileage shots. Filmed on March 5th, 2022.
