Inside the city of Volgograd, Home of the Deadliest Battle in Modern History 🇷🇺

After talking about it for eight long years, we finally made it from the UK to Volgograd (formerly Stalingrad), Russia! 🇷🇺 This is the city where one of the bloodiest and most pivotal battles of World War II took place. Join my dad and I as we explore the incredible history everywhere: Bullet-riddled armoured boat BK-31 pulled from the Volga River, the eternal flame, Pavlov's House, massive Soviet monuments, and the powerful Mamayev Kurgan complex with the "Not a Step Back" statue, Hall of Military Glory, and the graves of heroes like sniper Vasily Zaitsev. We walk where the Soviets and Germans fought across the Volga and reflect on the sacrifices of the Battle of Stalingrad. This has been a dream trip since I was 18 - and it did not disappoint! In this first video: arriving after 17 hours of travel, coffee stops, monuments, and ending the day with Russian beer and cocktails.
