Brazil ranks last in the world education rankings. This is the result of a global educational assessment, PISA, administered in more than 60 countries. But does the same test, administered in such diverse contexts, truly reflect the reality of each country? Bruno Tovar Falciano, a master's student in education, reflects on our country, with all its size and diversity. What have been the internal evaluation criteria to determine whether we are doing well or poorly in education? Educational assessment could provide us with evidence for developing and monitoring public policies. However, we don't always measure what we do, understand what we measure, or the results obtained illuminate the paths we wish to follow.
