Strategies for Addressing Challenging Behavior in Children with Down Syndrome

One of the biggest obstacles for learners is challenging behaviour. It is disruptive, dangerous, or significantly interferes with learning. It is critical that intervention for challenging behaviour be based on a functional behaviour assessment and evidence-based intervention strategies. This workshop will begin with an overview of the functional behaviour assessment process then provide several strategies that address challenging behaviour seen in children with Down syndrome. The strategies will be preventative and easily implemented within home, school, and community settings.
