What you need to know if you had an engine bearing failure
Flatirons Tuning Tech Tip - What you need to know if you had an engine bearing failure If you have had an engine bearing failure on your Turbo Subaru, there are some things that you need to know to to make sure that your re-build goes smoothly without issue. We get a lot of questions about these issues, so we have put together a video that will hopefully help to answer most questions that come up. Thanks for watching, and please don't hesitate to contact us if you have more questions! [EDIT] We have had a couple questions about oil pumps in specific regard to this video. We did not talk about them specifically because from our experience, they are typically replaced, and what our goal is for this video is to highlight things that are often overlooked. So that is why we don't go into specific detail about the oil pump itself. Long story short is that it would be ideal to replace the pump if you have had a bearing failure, and if you decide to clean the pump, you have to make sure that you are able to meet the criteria discussed in the video. I hope that helps!
