When I arrived, the frost had done serious damage. The lawn was overrun with moss and dead grass, one shrub was completely killed by the cold, and the entire garden needed a full restoration. I scarified the whole lawn to get back to a healthy base, then overseeded and fertilized to kick-start new growth. I cut back the dead shrub with the hedge trimmer and finished by hand with shears — every single stem had to be selected carefully to give it a fighting chance. Then I built a brand new flower bed with peonies and slate to tie the whole space together. One month later, the result surprised even me.
