After some years of waiting, the 500e is here in the US and well.. isn’t selling as well as expected. Regardless, I genuinely enjoyed the charm and pep of this tiny EV. Though its high As Tested $37,595 price and around 141-160 miles of range isn’t catching on with many people. It can do around 141-160miles of range as I tested. It is also capable of 85kW DC fast charging going from 0% to 80% in 35min. A 11kW Level 2 full charge would take 4.25 hours which is impressive. Weight is 2,981lbs. (The same time it takes a Sorento PHEV to fill its tiny 14kWh battery on a limited 3.5-3.7kW Level 2 charger )🏁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Highs: +Iconic 500 design, loads of Fiat quirks & eastereggs, including the Italian symphony played on every first drive. +Very peppy to drive, charges quick, solid interior technology with new Uconnect. Lows: -Price is a bit high for this fun yet tiny car and low range. -A mild-hybrid combustion powertrain would surely boost sales, or increasing the battery size a bit. 7/10: The 500e is a complete project and if you have the side cash for a fantastic urban/city car, it works well.
