DESIGNER Chang Kwang-hyo 📍2024. 9.4(Wed) at Seosomun Shrine History Museum 비밀의 화원 2 1927년, 이 곳은 노량진수산시장(1971년 오픈)의 시초인 서울에서 제일 큰 수산시장(경성수산)이었습니다. 그보다 훨씬 전 조선시대에는 박해받던 천주교 신자들의 처형장으로 쓰이던 슬픔의 터입니다.(그래서 이 곳을 바라보는 약현성당이 의미가 있다고 생각합니다.) 그 영혼들을 위로하기 위해 뒤늦은 2019년, '서소문성지 역사박물관'이 개관합니다. 하지만 바로 역병(코로나19)이 돌아 또 4년간의 침묵의 시간을 보냅니다. '서소문성지 역사박물관'을 사랑하는 이유는 이 터의 역사가 꼭 우리의 인생같기 때문입니다. 고난의 연속, 슬픔의 연속, 그리고 이별. 4년간의 고행의 시간이 끝난 뒤, 장광효의 카루소컬렉션이 2025년 봄 여름의 꽃을 뿌립니다. 사연 많은 적색 벽돌들 위에 그 어느 때보다 더 화려한 서른 다섯송이의 꽃으로 영혼의 위로와 사랑을 전합니다. The Secret Garden 2 In 1927, this place was the largest fish market in Seoul, known as Gyeongseong Fish Market, which later became the precursor to Noryangjin Fish Market (opened in 1971). Much earlier, during the Joseon Dynasty, this area was a site of sorrow, used as an execution ground for persecuted Catholics. (This is why I believe the view of Yakhyeon Cathedral from this location holds such significance.) In 2019, the Seosomun Shrine History Museum was opened, belatedly, to console the souls of those who suffered here. However, the outbreak of the plague (COVID-19) soon followed, leading to another four years of silence. The reason I love the 'Seosomun Shrine History Museum' is that the history of this site feels very much like our own lives—an unending series of hardships, sorrows, and farewells. After four years of trials, Chang Kwang-hyo’s Caruso Collection blooms like spring flowers in 2025.
