This is called urticaria or hives. Such bumps on the lips and eyelids are more painful than itching and last for several days. This is angioedema. Anaphylaxis is a complex condition in which blood vessels dilate and the airways in the lungs narrow, causing low blood pressure, coughing, shortness of breath, cardiac arrest, unconsciousness, and even death. Sudden death after injecting certain drugs is caused by this anaphylaxis. A condition that persists for more than six weeks and occurs on most days is called Chronic Urticaria, and if the condition resolves within six weeks, it is called Acute Urticaria.
