This is one of those songs that's always stuck with me. To say I've played this game would be a lie, but I'll be damned if the music isn't fucking awesome! I have a couple other songs I'm interested in doing from this game, just because its OST unironically fucks! Naturally the impetus to doing this song in particular was FamilyJules, but his cover was about 14 years ago, so I wanted to give it a slightly more modern treatment. I hadn't listened to his cover for a very long time, so this was coming from some very fresh ears. And man, have I really been on a roll with mixing, because I think this is one of my best mixes so far! Another new lead tone this time. Around the time of the NeuralDSP Birthday Sale, I also picked up the Archetype Plini X sim, which I also really liked! There's one more I'm experimenting with for this month's medley, but rest assured all the lead tones I've used from the Nolly, Misha, and Plini sims, along with the new one will be available for supporters at the end of Year 2. I'm experimenting a lot with my leads, mostly just because I wanted something different; I've used that Nolly X tone for quite a while, and though I love it, sometimes you just want something new. And as this channel is at least in part about pushing myself both musically and with mixing, I figured there was no reason not to experiment with some Neural stuff, which I've always loved! I'm definitely really happy with the direction I've been going at present, and I hope you can see that in my mixes and performances. I'm actually writing this two weeks ahead of the video's release, which is good because it means I'm actually catching up my music finally. There's something that's just kicked into gear for me, so I'm just pushing hard while the motivation lasts! I hope you enjoy the fruits of that motivation!
