In fact my collection is usually around 50% Quartz models. That's because some of the most beautiful watches are specifically Quartz, or significantly cheaper as a Quartz. This Seiko Credor 8J81-6A30 is a perfect example of the value that can be found if you look for a Vintage High Accuracy Quartz model. This watch isn't even that old having been manufactured in 2006. I personally own High Accuracy models from the mid 70s. Too many people when they think of Quartz, they only think about cheap throw away watches. They forget that there are cheap throw away Mechanicals as well. Essentially you get what you pay for, and there are some very impressive Quartz watches being made today that stack up well against any Mechanical around the same price. Similar to Mechanical watches, Quartz watches can be found for a deal if you shop for Vintage models. As with any Vintage purchase there are risks. If you find a nice model you'll have a watch that will last, and can be passed down to the next generation.
