The Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe GmbH (VBK) procured ten special designed buses of type MB O 405 NKF. These low-floor (Niederflur) buses were shorter (kurz) and lower (flach) [=NKF] to navigate the underpass at the Bulacher Str ("Bulacher hole"). Due to the low weight at normal engine the buses had a fast acceleration. The operational area were the bus lines 50 and 51. From summer 2015, the O 405 NKF were replaced by Solaris Urbino III 10.9 LE. In 2016 this bus was sold to Transportunternehmen BusClassic, Wiesentheid (Kitzingen district) (license plate 'KT-NF 45').
