The Beatles “Long Tall Sally” Ringo Starr - Drum Cover
The Beatles really captured an incredible performance of this Little Richard classic. One of the most rocking tunes from their early catalog and a live staple for many years. Their performance of this at the Washington DC Coliseum in February 1964 is one of my favorite live moments. Ringo really lays it all out here with his incredible swing feel and driving energy. The outro of this song really kicks it into high gear with the 10 bar explosion of triplets between the cymbals, snare, bass drum, and floor tom. Ringo would make this even more exciting and bombastic when they played it live. Such a fun song to play! 1968 Ludwig Downbeat 14x20, 8x12, 14x14 1962 Ludwig Jazz Festival 5.5x14 18” A Zildjian Crash 50’s 15” A Zildjian Hi Hats 60’s 20” A Zildjian Ride 50’s
