It’s Friday, 24th July 2026, at 13:15! All refreshed after our pitstop, and it's time for the next part of our journey. We are heading back to Dorset, totally determined to avoid the worst of the busy summer traffic. The master plan is to route towards Bridport via Axminster... so let's get moving! 🗺️💨 ​We headed out of the car park—making absolutely sure to be extra careful dodging that huge pothole this time!—and took a left through Staple Fitzpaine towards the A303 at Buckland St Mary. We travelled down the A303 right to the Devon border, where I took a left slipway off and plunged down into the proper single-file back lanes... you know the ones, with grass growing right up the middle of the road! 🌿🚙 ​Those lanes took us safely back to the A30, where I exited to the right. I then took another right down towards Ferne Animal Sanctuary. We were happily following the winding back lanes towards Willows Membury when, out of nowhere, I came up right behind a massive articulated lorry driving down the exact same tiny lanes! WTH!!! 🚛😳 How do they even fit down there?! ​I was stuck following this giant truck at a snail's pace all the way to Axminster, where I finally managed to squeeze past. What a relief! 😅 From there, it was a straightforward cruise on the A35 all the way down to Chideock, right up until I hit my dashcam recording limit for this batch! 📹🛑 Is there anything more baffling than finding a massive articulated lorry squeezing down a tiny, single-file country lane with grass growing up the middle?! 🚛🌾 What is the largest vehicle you've ever been stuck behind on the backroads, and how on earth did they even fit?!
