NEVER Exercise In The Money Options! In this video we will talk about exercising buy options and getting assigned on your sell options. The main point I want to make in this video is the you should almost NEVER exercise and option early, even when the option is in the money. It will also show that we dont need to worry to much about our sell options being exercised early in most cases. The main reason for this because when you exercise and option early you lose extrinsic value. It is the same as throwing the money in the trash. I will show you and option that I have open and all the numbers associated with this so you have a full understanding of this. You don't need a full understanding of the Greeks or anything for this but if you ever plan on buying or selling options you should understand the points in this video. It is almost ALWAYS better to sell to close and option at a higher value then you bought it for to get max profit. I will also mention 4 rare cases in which you would want to exercise an option early just in case you are put in one of those positions.
