Re-Engineering Indian Higher Education - Prof. B. Mahadevan

On December 5, 2017, Chinmaya University hosted the principals of various CBSE schools for a talk on 'Re-engineering Indian Higher Education' by Prof. B. Mahadevan, Former Vice Chancellor, Chinmaya University. In his talk, Prof. B. Mahadevan spoke in detail on the present education scenario and how instead of 'सा विद्या या विमुक्तये' (getting liberated), the students were getting pushed in 'सा विद्या या नियुक्तये' (bondage). Having inspired the gathering with his talk, Prof. B. Mahadevan also spoke about how Chinmaya University aims to make a difference. Shri N M Sundar, Former Campus Director, Chinmaya Eswar Gurukula, spoke about the various programmes offered at the #Kochi campus and the presently available 16 combinations of Majors and Minors for the student to choose from. He also mentioned how this will enable the students to add a subject of their choice to the core subjects of their stream of pursuit.
