In the fall of 2022 Joelle and I had the opportunity to stay at the Apgar campground in Glacier National Park. We really enjoyed the stay in the park and in fact would have liked to stay longer. We visited at the perfect time in mid October, just before the end of the season in Glacier. We found the campsites spacious, well thought out and plentiful. The bathrooms were very clean and there was plenty of trash pick up around the park. This part sits on the southern portion of Lake McDonald which is an easy walk from the campground. Being close to many small camp stores we never felt like we would have to struggle to find the basic necessities in Glacier National Park while camping there. We spent some enjoyable days in Glacier visiting Lake McDonald, Going to the Sun Road as well as Bowman Lake just to name a few. As a photographer, this park is spectacular and I recommend highly if you are fortunate enough to head to this gem, you plan to stay a few days in Apgar campground.
