Shopping for fabric at Aba Shopping Center

| Aba Shopping Center | You cannot come to Aba without visiting the Shopping Center, which is especially true for me. The last time I came here, it still looked slightly different, but it’s once again overwhelming to see how long one can walk through a market and see one fabric after the other. From linen to lace to Ankara, it is all here. This is the beginning of every designer’s dream. And also for me, as an artist working with traditional African fabric, it’s always very inspirational! The kids were intrigued to see the shop their grandmother used to stay at, and also more than happy to relax on the clothes laid out in their auntie’s shop - just like every other Shopping Center child would do.
