I Almost Gave Up on This Vox AC4TV | The Final Fix

We are BACK for one last video with the Vox AC4TV that is still blowing fuses for some reason. In the last video we changed the screen/plate resistor to lower the voltage at those nodes of the power tube, and also adjusted the bias by raising the cathode resistance. However, this amp is STILL blowing fuses on the 2nd or 3rd power cycle. In this video we take one last step, changing out the filter capacitors, then the rectifier diodes, then the preamp and power tube as final resort. We also test the ESR of the pulled filter capacitors and find some interesting results. Follow along for what is hopefully the last time I will ever see this amp on the bench, and make sure to subscribe if you are enjoying the channel! 00:00 Intro 00:17 Buying Capacitors - What Info Do We Need? 01:51 Which Capacitors Might Need to be Changed? 04:28 Description of What is to Come 05:43 Installing New Filter Caps (Timelapse) 13:38 New Filter Caps Installed 14:49 Initial Power Up 18:22 Full Power! 20:45 Sound Test - Are we Good?? 22:26 Conclusion 23:53 Confirmation of Bad Cap #amprepair #GuitarAmp #GuitarAmplifier
