Visita guiada ao Barracuda

The former submarine Barracuda was recently inaugurated as a museum ship. The NRP Barracuda, which entered service on May 4, 1968, played a crucial role throughout its 42 years of service in the Portuguese Navy, participating in various national and international missions, from the British Isles to the Western Mediterranean. Following its last mission in 2010, the submarine now assumes a different role in history, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to explore and learn about Portugal's naval history. Public visits are from Tuesday to Sunday, between 10 am and 6 pm. However, due to the dynamics of the interior space, visitors may encounter waiting periods of up to half an hour. The Barracuda not only symbolizes the courage and dedication of Portuguese sailors but also serves as a tangible testament to the country's naval heritage, thus enriching the nation's maritime culture.
