The Women of the Hispanic Society | Mary Evelyn Armstrong & Marion Eaton Dunbar
The Hispanic Society continues to highlight the female artists, curators, researchers, librarians and writers who have been a part of the Museum & Library throughout its 120-year history with a series of videos providing an in-depth look at the life and work of these women. This month we pay tribute to Mary Evelyn Armstrong and Marion Eaton Dunbar, hired to work at the Hispanic Society’s library by Archer Huntington during the first quarter of the 20th century. Both traveled to Portugal on separate occasions to learn about the history and traditions of the country, in particular by acquiring photographs. This collection has become a valuable source of information for the study of the history of photography in Portugal. ___ Visit our website: www.hispanicsociety.org Our History: https://hispanicsociety.org/about-us/ Become a Friend: https://hispanicsociety.org/support_u...
