Here I examine both the music and the sociology of parties—ravers' behavior patterns, rituals, and identity. I am a cultural studies major, and in my analysis I use both academic literature and the opinions of participants (no Wikipedia). In my analysis of rave, I draw on the works of Barthes, Bakhtin, Simon Reynolds, Victor Turner, Foucault, and Herbert Spencer. I've been playing guitar for 23 years and writing music for 10 years—my experience creating electronic music allows me to analyze it in detail. So, I approach rave analysis from both cultural anthropology and musicology. I spent six years traveling the world and gained extensive experience in a wide variety of practices. In 2009, I began studying throat singing in Altai, and in 2011, in India, I began playing asalato and other fun percussion instruments. My music is eclectic—I love breakbeat and jungle, world music, and psychedelia. My latest album was released in 2019 on Criminal Tribe Records.
