Jaguar XF X250 Front Passenger Door Lock Mechanism Replacement

Dealing with one of those very Jaguar XF issues, a faulty door lock mechanism. In this case my 2013 Jaguar XF has keyless entry and the passenger door when the rest of the car unlocked would not also unlock. It meant that when passengers went to get in it involved reaching over to the passenger door, or walking out and opening the door with the keys in hand. The door still unlocked but needed the keys close to them. It was a small niggle but one that got annoying. The fix is fairly straightforward although there are a few components that need to come out to do it. Thankfully jaguar used good quality door card clips and there were no flimsy plastic or foam evaporation barriers to try and preserve inside. Regarding the cost of the parts, this part was supplied with the car but they seem to cost between £25 to £40 on eBay. This seems a common problem on the XF and the Range Rover evoque so possibly a shared assembly across the JLR range of this era.
