Pental Island Road Level Crossing, Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia (Before and After Upgrade)

This is an update video of the Pental Island Road level crossing in Swan Hill, Victoria, Australia. Since I last filmed the level crossing in April 2023, the level crossing was upgraded with boom gates in December that year with the old flashing light signals been pulled out and replaced with new gated signals. The equipment on the new gated signals consists of: Two loud tone Siemens Type 3 electronic bells. The bell on the south eastern gated signal is programmed to sound until the boom gates have lowered, while the bell on the north western gated signal is programmed to sound until the boom gates rise. Westinghouse crossarms with newer style Westinghouse LED lights Western Cullen Hayes boom gate mechanisms with branded counterweights The level crossing ahead signs with an illustration of a road intersecting with a railway were replaced with level crossing ahead signs with an illustration of a level crossing signal. Thankfully the level crossing ahead sign with an illustration of a steam locomotive was left intact.
