This AV Show has an existentialist theme. It is about the perception of reality, about transience, about the self and what it is, where it is or could be. The show plays with the picture in picture effect. It joins the indissolubility of a Möbius loop, an Escher painting or the phlisophical contemplation of being and non-being. The minimalist music of Erik Satie, to which the entire show is tailored, plays alongside. So it was first the music that was then transformed into a photographic experiment. Background: This AV show was produced in analogue in 1992. The black and white photos were printed on silver halide paper and blued using a chemical method, then photographed in 35mm format on colour slides.. For special blending effects, masks were made from the colour photographs using orthographic line film and mounted. Collages were also used in some cases. The show was originally presented with 4 analogue Kodak carousel projectors that were synchronised with a coded 4-tape soundtrack. In 2008, the images were digitised as analogue projection technology and digital projectors were introduced, although these still do not generally achieve the playback quality of the analogue projectors of that time. In this respect, the show has predicted its own transience and is itself transforming into a new digital existence. The re-recording and digital transformation of the music is also a result of this transience.
